It’s a symbol, an image, a character that represents an event, a period, or a genre. For me, one of the most iconic moments is captured in this image, where Guybrush Threepwood suddenly finds himself transported back to the setting of the very first Monkey Island. As a kid, I didn’t really understand why—but the genius Ron Gilbert had crafted both a clever tribute to his magical creation and a playful twist that enriches the story of the second masterpiece.
For me, “iconic” in life is simply Guybrush Threepwood standing in an alley. Everything else is just talk.
