If you feel like playing a brilliant beat ’em up, we need to hop into a time machine and head back to 1994—or, more simply, just fire up a good emulator and enjoy Alien vs. Predator for arcade! Released in 1994 and developed by Capcom, it was a superb side-scrolling beat ’em up in the style of Final Fight. The story was simple yet engaging: Earth is invaded by Xenomorphs, and a group of Predators decides to join forces with human soldiers to wipe them out. Players could choose between two humans or two Predators and dive into classic side-scrolling brawls filled with combos, temporary firearms, and special moves. As a fan of the Final Fight genre, I saw this game as the ultimate expression of side-scrolling “brawling madness.” The very idea of Predators fighting Aliens was just too exciting—an irresistible hook that had me pouring coin after coin into the arcade cabinets!
