Overview

Blue Shark is an arcade game developed by bootleg company Model Racing and released in 1978. The game involves an underwater environment where players take control of a diver tasked with harpooning different sea creatures. With its simplistic graphics and gameplay, it captures the essence of arcade games from that era.

Gameplay

Players control a harpoon gun positioned at the bottom of the screen. The objective is to shoot as many sea creatures as possible, especially the menacing sharks that swim across the screen. The game’s controls are straightforward, with a lever to move the harpoon gun and a button to shoot.

Curiosities

Blue Shark is known as a bootleg version of the game “Shark Jaws,” developed by Atari, Inc. in 1975. While the original version was also centered around sharks, the bootleg release by Model Racing added subtle differences in graphics and mechanics typical of many arcade games of the time. Despite its niche existence, the game adds to the historical context of arcade developments in the late 70s.
