Janggun-ui Adeul is based on the Korean movie The General’s Son (1990). It is set in the 1920’s, during the Japanese occupation of Korea, and tells the story of Kim Doohan, a beggar and street punk who discovers that he is the son of a renowned general, and unites the lower circles of the Korean society to fight against the Japanese oppression.
