Summer is done. Grifis and I stayed away from the screens.

Our blood runs digital, yet our meat demanded its toll: it wanted the raw glare of the sun, the night air under the moon, the dark wash of the sea.

And this summer I felt them, speaking for myself.

It was good.

Enough of this nonsense. Retrogek must push forward. This project is planted in the dirt, and here it will stand.

The road ahead from here: We are closing in on a year since we began gathering the data. As told in past dispatches, the first haul is ready to be grafted in; the import scripts, crude and primitive as they are, stand upright and work.

Now that cycle must run on its own.

We must also lay hands back on infrastructure optimization. PageSpeed scores look good, apparently, yet bottlenecks remain, choking and hobbling our indexation. On Google’s end, at least, the current state is wretched.

Over on Bing, on the other hand, something stirs.

So one has to ask: Google, what did we ever do to earn such contempt?

No matter. We do not yield. Our archive will stay online, shaped and tempered as time wears on.

Well then, to our millions—nay, billions—of readers scattered across the void.
