Yesterday, we received a missive that gave us, let’s say, a bit of food for thought. The topic: the compliance of the data on our site and the numerous errors lurking in every corner of it. Errors that, as painful as it may be, are our reality.

We know. And we’ve said it over and over, like a chant that won’t leave us. We’re working on it, grinding away at this task that never seems to end. But data, like people, doesn’t just cross paths on command, and our resources? Well, they’re finite. Time’s the enemy, but we’re doing what we can. Rest assured, we’re not monsters—just mortals trying to do our best.

That’s why, in an effort to shed some light (and maybe mock our own fate), we’ve decided to slap a fantastic banner on every page of the site. A small reminder that screams: “The database is under development, we’re fixing its sins.” The cold, unvarnished truth.

Oh, and we threw in versioning too. A little touch of class. A bit of smoke and mirrors, but it works.
