From Us
I was born in 1982, and I believe it was one of the best “vintages” for the evolution of cinema—and especially for video games. Many titles caught my attention, particularly fighting games, but in 1994, on my 486 DX4 100 MHz, I was lucky enough—thanks to my older brother—to get a copy of Doom!
It was more than love at first sight. From the very first minutes, I felt a surge of pure adrenaline. The shotgun blasting monsters, the “Predator-style” chaingun, and the cherry on top… the chainsaw, tearing through enemies without hesitation, made the whole thing an unmatched blood-soaked experience.
Just a few days ago, Doom: The Dark Ages was announced—and of course I’ll try it. It already looks like yet another masterpiece. But the fact that, since 1993, this title has kept people talking says it all. Saying that John Carmack broke the rules is almost an understatement.
Let’s enjoy a short clip—with invincibility and maxed-out weapons—that made our hearts dream, reminding us that time passes, but emotions remain.
Greetings from MaybeGrifis and DarkNoiSe.
